The Heart of Budapest

The Republic of Hungary is located in Central Europe, covers an area of 35,919 miles and counts approx.. 10 Mio. citizens. Hungary lifted the Iron Curtain in 1989 and in 2004 became a full member of the Europeans Union. Prior to becoming a Republic, the country was part of the Austrian-Hungary Empire, the remains of which can still be seen in the elegant residences, wide avenues and magnificently restored public buildings.

Today the country is an economic leader and one of the thirty most popular tourist destinations worldwide. It is the global home to the largest thermal water cave system and represents with Lake Heviz the largest thermal lake worldwide. Additionally, Lake Balaton counts as the largest lake in Central Europe. Hungary is known for Europe`s oldest most traditional therapeutic and medial spa- and wellness treatment facilities which kings, emperors and commoners have been visiting for centuries.

Many airlines offer direct flights to and from Budapest, i. e. Amsterdam, London, Kiev, Dublin, Madrid, Bologna, Stockholm, Oslo, Athens, Pisa and Prague to name
only a few of the many connections that reach Budapest on a daily basis.
